Bitcoin recently climbed to an eight-month high near $87,400, extending a powerful recovery that has been supported by stronger institutional interest, crypto ETF inflows, improving investor sentiment and the unwinding of bearish positions. The cryptocurrency briefly approached the same resistance area again in early October, rising close to $87,000 before sellers stepped in. Softer U.S. economic data and expectations that the Federal Reserve may avoid aggressive interest-rate increases also helped boost demand for risk assets, including cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin has gained substantially over the past several months, putting the $87,000–$88,000 zone in focus as an important technical barrier for traders.
However, Bitcoin has since pulled back from those highs as rising U.S. Treasury yields, a firmer dollar and higher oil prices created renewed pressure on speculative assets. On October 7, Bitcoin was reported around $84,300, after briefly falling below $84,000, while investors awaited Federal Reserve meeting minutes for fresh signals on monetary policy. Analysts are watching whether Bitcoin can regain the $86,500–$87,000 range; a convincing breakout above the recent eight-month high could strengthen bullish momentum, while failure to hold key support levels may trigger further short-term volatility. Investors should therefore remain cautious, as cryptocurrency prices can change sharply within a short period.
